We have been talking quite a bit about going out of state for Garret's PT schooling. We will both be getting our bachelors the same time. After that I will be all done with school and Garret will still have 3 years of PT school. We both agree that it would be a fun adventure to go out of state and see what it is like to live outside of our little Salt Lake bubble where we will comfortable and watched over by our loving families. Tonight we were talking about how fun it would be to live somewhere where we would have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people. I love the idea of living somewhere we I don't fit the norm of the population. We both agree that of all times this would be the best time to go for an adventure because it is before we have children and want to settle down and have a more set lifestyle. We really want to end up in Salt Lake because we love the idea of raising our family is a place with so much family around as well as the wonderful atmosphere Salt Lake has. If we were to move anywhere it wouldn't be permanent so moving for Garret's schooling is the perfect excuse to get out for a little while and then come back to have our family. We don't have any ideas really of where we would go. There are definitely a lot of factors to consider and also that it is 2 years away. I am leaning a little more towards an eastern state though (somewhere like North or South Carolina, Pennsylvania, maybe Virginia....).
Of course if we do go out of state for Garret's schooling we will wait to start our family until we come back to Utah. I can't imagine having my first child and not have my amazing mother and mother-in-law nearby to help me out. Which of course isn't a big deal because I am not ready yet to have kids. I love them to death but don't feel ready to have that responsibility. Not to mention I am loving being able to spend time with my husband. From what I hear you don't get much alone time with your spouse once you have kids so I am loving every second I have now of getting precious time with my husband and trying to make the best of it.
Garret and I have already done so much in the year and a half that we have been married and I am so excited to see what the next few years. We have a few little goals in mind of things we want to do before we get settled down. Of course a majority of them involve traveling. We both love to travel which can be difficult with young children. We have already been to Southern California, Ecuador, San Francisco, Park City, and Havasupia. There are still some more sites we would love to see.
I also feel there is still so much I can learn about Garret. Even though I have spent almost every free moment with him these past two years I still am constantly learning new things about him which I love! I am so happy that after all this time we still enjoy every second we have together and have so much fun. I want to really get to know my husband before we add another member to our little family.
Some things I want to do before Garret and I get all settled down and be grown-ups:
- Visit Europe (England, Greece, Sweden, Italy, really anywhere!)
- I want to be better at my spirituality. I want to build a good habit of prayer and scripture study so that I am a good example for my children.
- Go on a cruise (I have never been on one so I really want to be able to say I have at least been on one)
- I want to be a better cook. I not only want to cook but I want to get in the habit of having a healthier diet (I guess it is a good thing I married someone who is getting a minor in nutrition)
- I want to do at least one more big production with my dancing and singing talents. I don't plan on dancing and performing for forever so I would love to do one last show to just end on.
- I want to know absolutely everything about my amazing husband!
- I want to learn to surf. I have always wanted to be a surf bum for a day!
- I want to go on a road trip where we don't have anything planned we just drive and see where we end up!
- I want to buy a new car that is reliable.
