Craziness!

Today was our second time having our Wolf Pack over for den meeting. We have 6 in our pack but only 4 boys showed up. But man those kids have so much energy! Maybe it is because it has been a while since I have been surrounded by kids (especially boys) but they certainly have enough energy to just go go go. Last night Garret and I planned out what we would do with the boys and decided to work on Achievement 12 which is role playing different scenarios where the boys have to decide what the right thing to do (ex: if you see someone breaking into your neighbors home what should you do). So there are about 8 things for the boys to role play so we figured that would take up all the time.... Man were we wrong on that. We maybe got through 3 scenarios before the boys were no longer with us. Unfortunately we didn't have anything else planned to take up the remaining 20 minutes of den meeting but thankfully Garret is quick on his feet. He flipped though the handbook and saw that learning to tie a tie is one of the electives. He ran and grabbed a tie for each kid and taught them all to tie them while I sat back and watched. We will definitely have some more things planned for next week so that we definitely will take up the entire hour... Or maybe I should have some caffeine so I can keep up with them...

Something else happened tonight too, I love watching Garret work with these boys. It is so great to see the man you love be so great with kids. When we have kids they will definitely be lucky to have Garret as their dad. I know he will be the most patient father and I know he will be so eager to play catch, go to dance recitals, help them learn the piano, push through a tough math problem and all those other things kids do on a daily basis. Even though we don't plan to have kids for a couple years, I am so glad to know that when we do I will at least not have to stress and worry about my husbands involvement with our children's lives.
